- training
- and certification Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position The NP has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position Duties include the following but are not limited to: Co-manages or manages a panel of patients with Urology focused care
- under the supervision of the service urologist Co-manages or manages a collaborative consultative service
- leveraging internal and external expertise in the best interest of the patient
- under the supervision of the service urologist Develops and implements a condition focused individualized plan to achieve optimal disease management Obtains patient history and performs physical exams focused on the genitourinary system Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Specialty Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members Orders and interprets labs
- tests
- and diagnostic studies Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services Documentation of signature informed consent for identified procedures and treatments Provides education to patients and their families Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes Completion of unsigned progress notes and encounters within established timeframes as per VA policy/guidance
