Physician Assistant Role Scope § Providesdirect patient care in office consultations, including assessment,work-ups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient careactivities. Position specializes in treating patients with kidneystones and other general urologic conditions § Obtains anddocuments health history, performs and documents physical exam, andorders and interprets diagnostic tests § Provides counseling topatients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment §Collaborates with physician(s) to provide appropriate direct careinterventions within scope of practice § Collects, organizes,records, and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinicaljudgment based in best practice standards and evidenced basedmedicine § Prescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needsand conducts appropriate patient follow-up & outreach § Ensurestimely retrieval of laboratory and ancillary studies and diagnosticconsultation reports § Consults with appropriate internal andexternal staff to make appropriate referrals for acute, chronic andpreventive care § Coordinates patient care and visits withappropriate clinical and non-clinical staff Shift – Full Time

  • National Certification in AdvancedPractice and current CPR certification
  • Current State of CT APRNlicense with prescriptive authority and current DEA number
  • 2years of experience (urology preferred)
  • Excellent clinicalmanagement skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in ateam environment and take lead when appropriate
  • Positive,customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellentpatient care
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate in other languages – highly desirable

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients ofall ages
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability toeffectively prioritize competing tasks with full autonomy
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including experience with medicalsoftware (Epic preferred)
  • Ability to adhere to HHC policies andstandards of service as well as HIPAA requirements, OSHAregulations and Infection Control standards
  • Communicatestactfully and effectively and demonstrates a commitment to superiorpatient care
  • Establishes and maintains effective workrelationships and an achievement-oriented attitude
  • Displayscourtesy and helpfulness when interacting with all internal andexternal customers
  • Exhibits strong personal initiative andproactively acts to achieve goals beyond what is required orassigned
