Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Lexington, SC 29072 • Hybrid work Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare/clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. This role requires a strong background in a private practice setting with experience in working with adult, children and adolescents being highly desirable. The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations for patients of all ages, focusing on mental health history and current symptoms. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Provide medication management, including prescribing psychotropic, controlled medications and monitoring their effects. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with medical office protocols. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Requirements Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required. License to practice as na advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). Master’s or doctorate Degree in Nursing with focus on Psychiatric nursing Valid nursing license in the state of South Carolina. Must have a valid DEA number Experience in a medical office or private mental health practice setting is preferred. Credentialed with insurance companies ( BCBS, Medicaid, Medicare, UBH, TRICARE, etc.) is preferred. Familiarity private practice psychiatric care is essential; experience working with children is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining high standards of patient care.
