Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity at Barnabas Behavioral Healthcare Barnabas Behavioral Healthcare, a leading outpatient mental health clinic in Seven Oaks, South Carolina, dedicated to providing integrated counseling and psychiatric care, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team. Position Overview:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing a full scope of psychiatric services to our diverse patient population across the lifespan. This includes conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, and providing patient and family education. The PMHNP will work autonomously while collaborating closely with our team of therapists and administrative staff to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments. Diagnose psychiatric disorders and develop individualized treatment plans. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records. Adhere to all relevant ethical and legal standards and state regulations. Potentially provide some level of psychotherapy or counseling as needed and within scope of practice.
Qualifications:
Current (APRN) license in South Carolina with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification. Master’s or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited program. DEA registration. Experience in an outpatient mental health setting is preferred. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Proficiency in psychopharmacology across the lifespan. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer competitive compensation packages for both salaried and contract positions.
