Nashville, TN 37201 Nurse Practitioner Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate expertise in various medical settings. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients, providing comprehensive care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Perform procedures such as phlebotomy, gastric lavage, catheter care, and medical imaging as required. Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and preventive care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in assisted living facilities or critical care settings. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Wound Care Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including staging and classification. Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans. Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and infection control measures. Prescribe medications and advanced wound care therapies. Utilize specialized wound care techniques such as negative pressure wound therapy (wound vacs) and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Educate patients and caregivers on wound care management and prevention strategies. Collaborative Responsibilities Work closely with physicians, nurses, and physical therapists to optimize patient outcomes. Coordinate care for patients with chronic wounds, diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and surgical wounds. Provide consultations for complex wound cases in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. Administrative & Research Duties Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments and treatment plans. Stay updated on the latest wound care advancements and evidence-based practices. Participate in wound care education programs and training for healthcare staff. Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program. Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. Experience or training in behavioral health, toddler care, or critical care is preferred. Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with various medical procedures. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
