The NP will provide direct patient care focusing on foot and ankle disorders and comprehensive wound management. This role is key to improving outcomes for patients with diabetic ulcers, chronic wounds, infections, and lower-extremity vascular conditions. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations and physical examinations of patients with podiatric and lower-extremity wounds Diagnose and manage acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, and infections Debride wounds, manage wound dressings, and perform minor in-office procedures as permitted under scope of practice Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including coordination of care with physicians, nurses, and specialists Prescribe medications, topical treatments, orthotics, and durable medical equipment (DME) as appropriate Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans based on evidence-based protocols Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention, foot hygiene, off-loading techniques, and lifestyle management Document patient encounters thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinic protocols and best practices Maintain compliance with all clinical, legal, and professional standards Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in [State] and national board certification (FNP-C, FNP-BC, or AGNP preferred) , or related specialty Active BLS/CPR certification (ACLS preferred) Strong clinical assessment, wound care, and procedural skills Proficiency with EHR systems and documentation requirements Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient education skills Preferred Qualifications Certified Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (CWCN, WOCN, or equivalent) – highly preferred Experience managing diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and complex wounds Knowledge of limb salvage protocols and off-loading techniques Experience in outpatient or ambulatory wound care centers or podiatry practices Schedule & Compensation Flexible schedule options available (e.g., 2-3 days/week or part-time remote charting) Competitive hourly or salaried compensation based on experience
