Position Summary:

Responsible for the application of specialized knowledge and skills in providing care to the ambulatory client. Provides leadership in development, implementation and evaluation of employee health services and provides training, direction, and supervision of staff within the department.

Responsibilities
Performs expanded role duties in health assessment, treatment and education of the ambulatory patient.
Evaluates employees for capacity to work; orders work restrictions based on examination/test data and information from physicians when applicable.
Collaborates with physician preceptor on clinical issues and medical surveillance requirements for select employees. Obtains approval for all nursing and expanded role protocols.
Maintains updated policy and procedure manual for the Employee Health department.
Provides supervision of staff for daily operations.
Provides educational opportunities for staff on Employee Health functions and provides updated information on changes in the field.
Maintains current knowledge base on regulatory requirements pertinent to Employee Health (i.e. OSHA, Infection Control, the Joint Commission, etc).
Serves as a system-wide employee health and occupational health resource.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals on matters relevant to employee health.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year of experience

Licensure Requirement:

Must have and maintain certification by American Nurses Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, or a National Certification Corporation (NCC) certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Must meet the State’s requirements as a Nurse Practitioner.
