Job Description Summary:
Under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director, and the administrative supervision of the Program Manager and Administrative Manager, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the Employee Assistance Program & RECOVERY+ Clinic will work in collaboration with all members of the staff team to offer high-quality and compassionate healthcare to clients and patients served by the programs. Responsible for planning, providing, and directing the delivery of basic primary, psychiatric, and substance use (medication-assisted) treatment care and health education programs for patients of age groups from pediatric to geriatric with basic psychiatric, and substance use-related diagnoses under general supervision using established standards of care and protocols. The Nurse Practitioner for EAP & RECOVERY+ will serve the equivalent of thirty-six (36) to forty (40) hours per week with possibility of callbacks as needed.

- and culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, humble, kind, and competent ways Follows HIPAA guidelines and maintains the highest level of confidentiality and privacy at all times when dealing with client information, paying special attention to any additional risks present when using telehealth software and programming Completes all appropriate documentation in a timely manner with correct and appropriate tone, grammar, and syntax Collaborates effectively with clients, outside agency personnel, family members, and internal agency personnel including but not limited to supervisors, therapists, physicians, nurses, case managers, and certified peers to ensure quality and continuity of care Participates in staffing, education, and/or supervision as scheduled, engages in quality assurance and improvement as needed, and displays evidence of the value of lifelong learning as related to best practices in client care Exhibits the interpersonal skills needed to respond swiftly with a service-recovery mindset when listening to, investigating, and addressing client questions, concerns, and complaints with specific attention given to ensuring clients know their concerns are taken seriously while also maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the staff and organization about whom the concerns are related Participates in ensuring that any services offered via telehealth in some capacity are equitable in quality, safety, confidentiality, and appropriateness as if those same services were offered face-to-face Assesses system resources available for patient care delivery, with special attention given to the nature of patients presenting to a mobile clinic in a rural, underserved area Facilitates communication between patients, family members, and the broader healthcare team; educates patients and family members regarding diagnoses, therapeutic regimen, and management plan Serves as a resource to members of the healthcare and mobile Satellite Clinic team, serves as a role model and preceptor for other nurses and nursing students, and participates in the design and revision of protocol as needed Provides documentary evidence of continuing competency and certification in area(s) of specialty Responds appropriately to codes, including but not limited to medical emergencies, initiates CPR or appropriate action, and notifies authorized personnel in compliance with all agency and system policies and procedures Works collaboratively with all members of the EAP and RECOVERY+ clinics to reflect and educate the public on the importance of mental health and substance use treatment, working against stigma around best practice models and populations served Completes other activities or responsibilities as needed per supervisor or agency including but not limited to cross-training with and offering support for other departments
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUTPATIENT PSYCH & MAT CLINIC
Obtains a complete medical, psycho-social, substance use, and family history Performs history and physicals which includes mental status examination Orders and reviews results of pertinent diagnostic tests including lab and x-ray Formulates and implements a plan of care based upon assessment data, standards of practice, established protocol and with physician (psychiatrist and addictionologist) consultation as necessary Utilizes results of diagnostic tests as appropriate in patient care management. Orders indicated pharmacological therapy Assesses and monitors patient responses to current medications, including side effects Assesses and monitors patient changes in mental status, including suicidal and/or homicidal ideation, and hallucinatory activity Orders psychological testing as indicated Orders consultations as appropriate Documents findings, clinical impressions, plan of care, and patient response Performs dictation of psychological evaluations and discharge summaries Collaborates and/or consults with the physician regarding abnormal patient care findings Evaluates and revises the plan of care based upon patient response and in consultation and/or collaboration with the physician as necessary Orders pharmacological therapy, referrals, follow-up care and appointments needed Provides progress reports to families as indicated Discusses any specialized care needed with the patient and family Makes referrals as appropriate to physicians, other health care agencies, community agencies, and emergency services Collaborates with personnel of other agencies to promote continued quality care for patients Performs related responsibilities as required or directed
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Graduate of Master of Science in Nursing program with specialty as an advanced practice Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Will require upon hiring (if not already obtained) required hours of training on Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) or Medication for Opiate Use Treatment (MOUD)
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee National certification as an Advance Practice Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist or National Certification as a Psychiatric Family Nurse Practitioner Any additional training or certification as requested by the supervisor or agency
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years psychiatric nursing experience preferred Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment involving buprenorphine and naltrexone products preferred
