Role:

We are looking for an experienced, high-performing Operating Room Team Leader to oversee our Orthopedic Surgery service. This position plays a key role in coordinating surgical workflows, maintaining clinical excellence, and leading a collaborative and efficient OR team. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision Lead and mentor a team of surgical nurses, technologists, and support staff during orthopedic procedures. Create daily staffing assignments and coordinate with surgeons for case preparation. Foster a supportive team culture and encourage professional growth and accountability. Clinical Coordination Oversee all orthopedic surgical procedures from pre-op setup to post-op turnover. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, surgical protocols, and safety standards. Act as a clinical resource and troubleshoot issues in real-time during procedures. Patient Care Champion high standards of care and safety for every surgical patient. Ensure proper positioning, sterility, and support throughout orthopedic cases. Resource Management Partner with supply chain teams to maintain inventory, reduce waste, and avoid delays. Oversee equipment maintenance and readiness specific to orthopedic procedures. Quality Improvement Identify areas for improvement and participate in performance initiatives. Monitor infection prevention compliance and OR efficiencies. Support implementation of evidence-based practices in orthopedic surgery. Education & Training Train OR team members on new orthopedic equipment, technologies, and techniques. Organize in-services and contribute to continuing education opportunities. Stay current with surgical advances and integrate them into team practice.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Minimum 5 years of OR experience Orthopedic surgery experience required. CNOR certification preferred. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to stay calm, decisive, and team-focused under pressure.
