MedicalAssistant Required Education, License/Certification, or WorkExperience:

Work where you matter. ABrief Overview Provides for the delivery of professional nursingcare under the direction of the provider. What you will do Performsgeneral nursing care to patients. Administers prescribedmedications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
Coordinates the patient care activities for the clinic. Preparesequipment and assists provider during procedures, treatments,examinations, and testing of patients. Observes, records, andreports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatmentsto provider. Oversees appointment scheduling and ensurespreferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
Maintains timely flow of patients. Greets patients and preparesthem for physical examination. Screens patients for appropriateinformation including obtaining the health history, and takingvitals. Documents obtained information in patient chart. Instructspatient in collection of samples and tests. Responds to patientphone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from thephysician. Educates patients and families about diagnostic process,medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Ensurescleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Assuresappropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to labprotocol as needed. Performs quality control and maintains recordson all lab testing. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring,developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning,and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coachingemployees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EssentialQualifications The individual must be able to work the hoursspecified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform each essential job function satisfactorilyincluding having visual acuity adequate to perform position dutiesand the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear,understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
