Direct access to your earnings daily! Job Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the residentduring the scheduled work period in long term care. Providesresident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance toassigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to thephysical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.

Considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know,and will be held accountable for, following infection preventionand control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use.

Provides assistance with basic health care needs including dailyliving activities that may include, but are not limited to,bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining andrecording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and otherpersonal care to assigned resident. Assists the resident intransferring, repositioning, and walking using correct andappropriate transfer techniques and equipment and also providesrange of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related tofood preparation and dining, while creating a positive diningexperience for the resident. Assists residents with meals andsnacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. The NA aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, ifneeded. Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomesrelated to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.

Communicates resident’s changing condition and care relatedconcerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive bodyfluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping andlaundry services to assist residents with keeping living areasclean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation withwellness and recreational programs and encourages residents toparticipate. May participate in departmental/organizationcommittees and task forces as needed. Qualifications High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experiencein long-term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with theState Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four monthsof date into the position by being enrolled in a training programor in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.

CNA training and certification required and provided byfacility. Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competencytesting and maintains a record of continuing education credits foreach year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are requiredannually. Maintains all department specific requiredcertifications. When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registeredwith the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry. Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role mayclassify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver s license. Also must bemedically qualified to perform the essential driving functionsof this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leadersrequest.
