Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with mobility and transfers of patients
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Perform basic nursing procedures, such as phlebotomy and IV infusion
- Assist with patient assessments and document findings
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
Qualifications:
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA)
- Experience in behavioral health or medical office settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology
- Ability to ventilate patients and provide basic life support measures if necessary
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) and its proper use
- Understanding of hospice care principles and practices
