Must be a graduate of an 80-120 hour nursingassistant course and registered to practice in the state ofWisconsin as a Certified Nursing AssistantHigh school diploma orequivalent is preferredAbility to think and work independently andwith directionComfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimesstressful environmentMust have no lifting or bendingrestrictionsPrevious experience in a health care facility isdesiredGood communication skills and bedside manner with acompassionate personalityWillingness to work with all teamplayersMust have an acceptable criminal background check

The Certified Nursing Assistant is directly responsible to theCharge Nurse or Shift Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

Providesnon-professional routine nursing care to the residents of ChristianCommunity Homes and Services in accordance with the facility andstate/federal guidelines

Specific Job Duties:

Must be flexible inwork assignments, and especially during a staffing emergencywilling to work in other areas if neededDemonstrates ability toperform nursing assistant duties as assigned and plan/prioritizeactions before starting resident caresDemonstrates ability toobtain pertinent information regarding residentsPerforms proceduresto meet individual resident needs for daily hygiene and appearanceincluding, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, shaving, oralcares, and nail careDemonstrates proper techniques of lifting,transferring, and ambulating residentsImplements special care needsincluding incontinence cares, special skin care, catheter care,colostomy care, and turning/positioning techniquesPerformsrestorative care and range of motion as instructedAssists withresident admissions, discharges, and room transfers asappropriateAssists and encourages residents to take adequate diet,fluids, and supplementsRecognizes physical distress and acts toprovide relief for those residentsIdentifies and reports physicaland psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriatestaffAllows residents the freedom of choice in details of dailyliving whenever possibleFollows the resident plan of careEnsuresresident rights are maintained at all timesReports any observedphysical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediatelyParticipatesin establishing and updating resident care plans and aide caresheetsEncourages residents to participate in self care asappropriateAssists residents with the application ofprostheticsPerforms vital signs and obtains resident heights andweights per scheduleProvides diversional activities as appropriateto meet resident needsCleans and sanitizes client areas, includingchanging bed sheetsDemonstrates effective and respectfulcommunication with residents, families, and teammembersDemonstrates knowledge of, and adheres to, actions to assureresident and staff safetyDemonstrates proper infection controlprocedures and practicesComplies with rules and regulations ofregulatory and surveying agenciesMaintains an active workingrelationship with nursing team and ancillary departmentsPromotesthe concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonalrelationshipsParticipates in giving and receiving report from thenursesAttends scheduled training seminars, meetings, and inservicesas appropriateFollows work assignments and/or work schedules asassignedPractices good personal hygiene and facility dresscodeAssumes added duties as assigned by Charge Nurse and/or shiftsupervisorStays up-to-date on CNA training, policies andproceduresPhysical RequirementsMust be able to:

Stand and walk forlong periods of timeFrequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend,twist, and reach with hands and armsManually lift 35 pounds andoccasionally up to 50 pounds

Pay:

$19.00-$25.00 per hour, dependingon years of experience. Shift differentials available on PM and NOCshifts.
