SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all Nursing Department functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established Nursing Department policies and procedures and assist residents with activities of daily living.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide physical support to assist residents to perform daily living activities, such as lifting, transfers, assisting with bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, serving and assisting with meals, and taking vital signs
Observes and documents the health, behavior, physical and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse
Responds promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine residents’ needs
Promotes personal safety and the safety of the residents with a clean and safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situation to the nurse
Communicate with nurses on resident conditions, changes and concerns
Complete required documentation in a timely manner
Provide companionship, comfort and support to residents
Meet federal and state in-service requirements
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions
Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility
