May provide constant observation of thepatient and notifies nursing personnel of changes in behavior orstatus and when leaving the room, and intervenes as needed tomaintain patient safety. Communicates effectively with co-workers,patients, family and visitors. Performs all functions delegated bythe nurse staff and adheres to policies andprocedures.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and abilityto present information clearly and professionally to varying levelsof individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend,holiday, on call availability).Job Duties Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse withinscope of skills verification. Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient carearea. Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational,safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patientsserved in assigned areas. Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients,families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinaryteams. Completes documentation of patient related tasks. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, includingbut not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction tothe patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style. Performs other related duties as assigned.
