For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):
0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Unit Bio:

The

NICU/CCN

in The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital is a 51 bed level lll-lV unit. This is the largest ICU in the state of Maine. We have single rooms with state of the art equipment and work closely with all disciplines- surgical, cardiac, GI, genetics, renal, palliative care etc. We have Neonatologists and APP’s covering 24/7 with a nursing staff of 150. We have an active critical care transport team and a nurse driven PICC Team.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit -31 beds & Continuing Care Nursery – 20 Beds

Summary:

Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
The Certified Nursing Assistant II role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1.

Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
2.

License/Certifications:

Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3.

Experience:

CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
