Job Summary:
As a Nursing Assistant, you will work under the guidance of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses to deliver direct patient care. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate medical records. Collaboration with the healthcare team will be essential to uphold high standards of patient care.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately
- Aid in patient mobility and transfers
- Maintain up-to-date electronic medical records
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Skills:
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques
- Strong patient service orientation
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Familiarity with hospital and emergency medicine practices
- Knowledge of eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems
- Understanding of anatomy and outpatient care
- Previous exposure to hospital medicine practices
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
Experience:
- Prior experience as a nursing assistant or in a related role is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is beneficial
- Knowledge of pediatric care is a plus
