Summary Provides patient carerelated support including services relative to hygiene, nutrition,ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse perestablished departmental guidelines. Documents appropriately intopatient record charting based on skill level and followsestablished standards and guidelines. Upon admission, accuratelycompletes personal belonging sheet, obtains and records height,weight, and vital signs, orientates new resident to the facilityand unit, ensures that resident receives an arm band and providesresident with a labeled admission kit. Answers call lights promptlyand responds to all resident needs. Completes rounds as assignedand throughout course of duty. Turns and repositions residentsevery 2 hours; repositions seated residents every hour. Takes vitalsigns and weights accurately and reports to Charge Nurse promptlyand accurately. Ensures that proper slings, splints, braces,positions devices, specialty care items, etc. are applied accordingto physician or therapy orders. Accurately measures intake andoutput on the I & O sheets and relays information to Charge Nurseat shift change. Performs procedures and treatments as instructedby Charge Nurse (i.e.: Sitz bath, moist packs, isolationtechniques, etc.). Maintains appropriate supplies and equipment onthe unit and alerts Charge Nurse or purchasing clerk of additionalneeds. Ensures that charge items are entered according todepartmental procedure. Successfully completes job duties as CNA byattending continuing education classes and in-services, acceptingreassignments to other areas, taking on increased responsibilities,and keeping Charge Nurse informed of pertinent information that mayrequire follow-up. Interacts and maintains effective workingrelationships with other team members, charge nurse, and departmentmanagers. Maintains discretion in handling confidentialinformation. Gives report to Charge Nurse at the end of each shiftand completes walking rounds with the oncoming or leaving shift.

May be assigned other duties as appropriate. Job QualificationsHigh school diploma preferred, but not required Active CertifiedNurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working CPRcertification required, or willing to obtain within six months ofemployment Long-term care experience preferred Excellentcommunication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors,and staff Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule tomeet productivity standards Ability to stand and walk for longperiods of time Ability to lift heavy objects using proper liftingtechniques and with assistance when necessary Ability to transferand move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200lbsusing proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessaryAbility to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbsusing proper techniques and with assistance when necessary Manualdexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working withpatients and equipment Ability to physically perform necessarydocumentation in writing or se of tape recorder Visual acuity withthe ability to distinguish color Pay range: $16.08 – $25.24 perhour
