RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking an individual to serve the role of Nurse Team Lead in the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) as a CTE program supervisor for Healthcare & Clinical Services and Sports Medicine. Incumbents are responsible for working with secondary CTE teachers and the State CTE leadership to provide leadership and guidance related to the growth and promotion of secondary CTE programs in Mississippi. The ideal candidate must be dependable, detail-oriented, self-drive, and a team player with the ability to communicate in writing and verbally and manage multiple priorities within established timelines. Knowledge and experience with nursing and the Mississippi Department of Education’s secondary healthcare curricula is required.
Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to the following:
- Directs nursing practice as it relates to secondary career and technical education healthcare programs.
- Conducts research and design curriculum and assessments related to secondary healthcare programs such as nursing, sports medicine, and telehealth.
- Providing individual and statewide CTE training modules.
- Assist nurses in transitioning to career and technical education healthcare classrooms.
- Collaborate with others to achieve organizational goals.
- Participates in influencing attitudes, modifying behavior, and introducing new approaches to healthcare delivery.
- Provides a teaching atmosphere conducive to the learning of new concepts and skills.
- Provides guidance to colleagues, allied personnel, and consumers of healthcare.
- Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Mississippi.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Applicants must attach a valid copy of his/her licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
- Must possess approved certificate in area of practice.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 2-4+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
