Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is currently accepting applications for a Health Care Technician II – Oral Care Aide – Unit R2 1st Shift.

This position is critical for providing necessary restorative and oral care and direct services to individuals on a residential unit. Units are regulated under OBRA and provide the Medicaid Certified Nursing Home level of care to the residents served. Two distinct programs are comprised within BMNTC including the Specialized Dementia program and the specialized intellectually delayed program. Often the residents served have combative or assaultive behaviors and/or acute conditions resulting in the inability of other nursing home settings and/or providers being able to support individuals in the community. As assigned, the Oral Care Aide works the floor as a CNA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performing oral care on each resident twice a day during 1st shift (before or after breakfast and after lunch). Communicate oral needs to dental office.
Sanitizing the oral care cart and changing out items as needed. Transfer residents to the dental office and stay during appointment.
Primary person responsible for wearing proper PPE during oral care. Flexibility is required for training/education purposes and to meet the needs of the facility. This position is designated MANDATORY and MUST report or stay over during adverse weather events and/or other emergencies.

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
