Addiction Counselor & CST Team Lead Kindheart Homecare LLC Charlotte, NC 28217 Community Support Team (CST) Lead & Addiction Specialist Kind Heart Healthcare Solutions Kind Heart Healthcare Solutions is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Team Lead for our Community Support Team (CST) program who also possesses addiction treatment credentials. This dual-role position serves adults with severe mental illness and substance use disorders, providing comprehensive, community-based services to support recovery and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides clinical oversight and supervision to a multidisciplinary CST of licensed clinicians, case managers, peer specialists, and nurses Ensures team delivers high-quality, person-centered, evidence-based services in accordance with CST model and NC Medicaid requirements Conducts comprehensive clinical and substance use assessments, utilizing ASAM criteria and evidence-based assessment tools Collaborates with clients and team to develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans addressing both mental health and substance use needs Provides direct clinical services including individual and group therapy utilizing EBPs such as CBT, ACT, MI, IDDT, and specialized addiction treatment modalities Delivers specialized substance use disorder interventions and coordinates with recovery support services Monitors client progress, program outcomes, and quality metrics; utilizes data to improve services Serves as a clinical expert in both mental health and addiction treatment; provides consultation and training to team and community partners Collaborates with community providers and stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and maximize client success Ensures compliance with all documentation, service delivery, and quality assurance requirements for both CST and substance use disorder services
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field Must hold one of the following licenses/credentials: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Licensed Psychologist (LP) Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) Nurse Practitioner (NP) certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center AND must also hold one of the following addiction credentials: Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) Minimum 3 years post-master’s experience serving adults with severe mental illness and substance use disorders Minimum 2 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams Expertise in evidence-based mental health and substance abuse interventions Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills Knowledge of local behavioral health, substance use treatment, and social service systems Proficiency in MS Office and electronic health records Valid driver’s license and auto insurance NC Medicaid Clinical Policy Requirements for
CST Team Lead:
Must be fully licensed (no provisional or associate licenses qualify) Must have a minimum of two years post-graduate experience with the population served Must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the population and age to be served Must be dedicated to the team at least 32 hours per week Required to provide clinical and administrative supervision to the team Must demonstrate strong leadership and management skills Required to conduct weekly team meetings to ensure care coordination Must provide direct clinical interventions to beneficiaries Required to complete all NC Medicaid mandated training for CST providers Must ensure compliance with all documentation, service delivery, and quality assurance requirements Required to participate in required supervision with team members (minimum of one hour of supervision per week) Must maintain compliance with staff-to-beneficiary ratios as specified in the policy Required to ensure 24/7 coverage for crisis response for enrolled beneficiaries
Addiction Specialist Requirements:
Demonstrated competence in substance use disorder assessment and treatment Proficiency in applying ASAM criteria and utilizing evidence-based SUD assessment tools Experience with addiction treatment modalities and recovery-oriented systems of care Knowledge of co-occurring disorder treatment approaches Ability to provide clinical supervision to substance use counselors and associates Kind Heart Healthcare Solutions offers competitive salary, excellent benefits, and rewarding work in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
