As a free-standing surgicalfacility, the ASC provides surgical care to both pediatric andadult patients. The ASC supports the following services:
Orthopedics (Sports), ENT/OHN, plastics, general laparoscopic,general oncology, peds urology, urology and dental.
The hours willbe 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday to Friday. No weekends, no Holidays,and no on-call.

Summary:
TheClinical Support Technician II is responsible for assisting theprofessional caregiver in the delivery of patient care,transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintainingpatient rooms, and performing a wide range of clerical,transcription, and maintenance of the patient care unit desk areafunctions. Performs patient care requiring clinical and proceduralknowledge and skills requiring the use of sterile techniques,infusion monitoring, and medical equipment. Coordinates the flow ofcommunications on the patient care unit. The Clinical SupportTechnician II may or may not be given a defined patient careassignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager /charge nurse. Tracks supply inventory, orders supplies and specialitems. Assists unit with clerical and administrative supportincluding PI audits and data entry.
Responsibilities:
1. Assistphysicians and other health care providers with routineexaminations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipmentand supplies.2. Critically review patient care documentation makingnote of any significant changes in the patient’s condition and makean immediate report to a registered nurse or physician.3. Provide avariety of clerical tasks to include but not limited to organizingand prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors,researching information as requested by nurses and physicians,reviewing orders for logic and clarity, revising orders asrequested by the nurse, answering the telephone/ patient calllights, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medicalrecords. Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks,and inventory of supplies.4. Provide administrative and clericalsupport including PI audits and data entry5. Provide clinicalsupport assistance to include, but not limited to, cleaning thework area, maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting commonsoftware and hardware problems, changing linens, checking supplyinventory, re-stocking supplies, transporting patients/ supplies/specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees andstudents.6. Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined inplan of care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding,assisting with ambulation. Measure and record vital signs, andpatient height and weight. May be responsible for specimencollection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary bloodglucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises,and/or postural drainage. Performs Oxygen room set-up and monitorsoxygen flow-rate, performs oropharyngeal and nasopharyngealsuctioning, tracheostomy care, fecal impaction removal, steriledressing change wound irrigation, IV fluid assembly and monitoring,IV site care and discontinue peripheral IV, ostomy irrigation andcare, urinary catheterization and irrigation, performs establishedoral, nasogastric, gastrostomy tube feeding7. Reinforce routineteaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician anddocument patient understanding of instructions. - Listed as Nursing Assistant I withthe North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- -Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationProfessionalExperience Requirements
- One (1) year of clerical or customerservice experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistantexperience, which may include a nursing assistant course or anequivalent combination of education, training andexperience.
