$19.00 – $25.50 Department Details PT evening 4:30pm-9pm JobSummary The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to theresident during the scheduled work period in long term care.
Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistanceto assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse(RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to thephysical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
Considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know,and will be held accountable for, following infection preventionand control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use. PartTime Evening 4:30pm – 9pm Provides assistance with basic healthcare needs including daily living activities that may include, butare not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming,dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, andproviding psychosocial support and other personal care to assignedresident. Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, andwalking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques andequipment and also provides range of motion and passive exercises.
Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, whilecreating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assistsresidents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements asappropriate. The NA aids providers and nursing staff members withprocedures, if needed. Documents resident interactions as neededand the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, anddietary. Communicates resident’s changing condition and carerelated concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collectsnon-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provideshousekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keepingliving areas clean and operational. Provides assistance anddocumentation with wellness and recreational programs andencourages residents to participate. May participate indepartmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications High school graduate or general equivalency diploma(GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Priorclinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term carepreferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificationwith the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within fourmonths of date into the position by being enrolled in a trainingprogram or in the process of obtaining certification throughEndorsement. CNA training and certification required and providedby facility. Satisfactorily completes yearly department specificcompetency testing and maintains a record of continuing educationcredits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing educationare required annually. Maintains all department specific requiredcertifications. When applicable, for applicable states, certifiedand registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role mayclassify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehiclereport and proof of valid driver’s license. Also must be medicallyqualified to perform the essential driving functions of thisposition as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.
