Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm during training

SUMMARY:

Thisrole is a transitional, entry-level position designed to train thetrainee on the necessary skills required to become a CertifiedNursing Assistant (C.N.A). Candidates hired into this position arerequired to take and pass the C.N.A Training Class and statemandated test in order to earn their C.N.A Certification. Onceclasses have been successfully completed, employee may beginworking as a nursing aide until certification is obtained.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Skillfully and safely, perform all activitiesrequired to successfully pass the C.N.A certification in order totransition into the C.N.A role.
  • Must remain in good standing withtraining program. Failure to remain in good standing for any reasonmay result in termination at the discretion of the training programleaders.
  • Read and follow resident’s care card.

Care plan includesresidents daily personal care needs, treatments and therapies.

Engage nurse with any questions related to care plan.

  • Givespersonal care to residents: bathing, toileting, feeding,transferring, and ambulating.
  • Promote residents involvement andindependence to the extent the resident is able.
  • Observe andreport changes in physical condition, behavior, reactions, andappetite to nurse. Report any hazardous conditions that mayjeopardize resident, visitor, or staff safety.
  • Transportresidents throughout the facility as needed.
  • Attend in-servicesto fulfill the number of hours required by state.
  • Perform otherduties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • C.

N.A. Certificationrequired to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including telephoneetiquette preferred.
  • Detail and service oriented preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

M -Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally,and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater thannegligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For diseasespecific care programs refer to the program specific requirementsof the department for further specifications on experience andeducational expectations, including continuing educationrequirements.
