Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Aide- Med Surg/Tele 3N- Full Time, Days In this role, the successful candidate under the supervision of the registered nurse, performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients. Maintains patient and service rooms in a clean and orderly condition. Assists with the preparation of the room and equipment for diagnostic procedures. Participates in the orientation process of new employees

Job Responsibilities:

Patient Care Delivery- The nurse aide delivers basic nursing care to provide for the care and comfort needs of the patient. Responds to patient’s call lights promptly to determine patient’s needs and relays information to appropriate nursing personnel. Observes the patient and reports any reaction or change in condition to the nurse in a timely manner. Assists the patient in the activities of daily living- nourishment, ambulation, personal hygiene, toileting. Adapts care delivery to meet the individual needs of the patient. Provides direct nursing care to patients by performing such tasks as vital signs/weight, complete/partial baths, skin care, Foley catheter care, enemas and specimen collection in compliance with policy/procedure. Demonstrates proper turning, positioning and transferring techniques when providing patient care. Distributes patient nourishment, assists with feeding as indicated, collects trays at the end of the meal. Estimates amount of food/fluid consumed by patient at each meal from the tray and records the data on the flow sheet, Intake & Output record, or Calorie Count Sheet. Maintains a clean, safe and organized patient environment Monitors and maintains the service rooms in an orderly manner. Prepares equipment to be returned to Central Service. Identifies the patient prior to care delivery by checking the identification arm band
