Patient Satisfaction Initiatives:
GET IT scripting, Service Recovery, and Communication Boards
- Performing Patient Safety Initiatives

- Reconciling and Administering Patient Medication

- Administering Blood and Blood products
- Performs Waived Testing.

- Applying and Documenting Patient Restraints and Seclusion.
- Performing and documenting full systems assessments.
- Utilizing Infection Control Precautions.
- Caring for patients with, but not limited to, the following unit specific asks, needs and/or conditions: Assesses needs of patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination and analysis of diagnostic data; Delegates, supervises, and evaluates the activities of other team members while simultaneously executing immediate directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations; Completes verification of Safe Surgery checklist, Prepares Operating Room for patient and procedure; Positions and prepares the patient for the surgical procedure on the Operating Room table; Initiates and maintains the surgical count for the procedure; Serves as a communication liaison to family and members of the operating team; etc.
- Performs the following, but not limited to, RNFA duties: Collaborates with the surgeon and the surgical team in performing a safe operating with optimal outcomes for the patient; Practices in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative experience; Assists surgeons in surgical procedures and assist with surgical preparatory procedures; Performs multiple tasks to get patients prepared for the physician and assists the physician with giving surgical care to the patient; etc.
- Performing Preventative care for Hospital Acquired Conditions, including but not limited to: Falls, CAUTI, and
CLABSI 7.
Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors. 8. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff. 9. Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when working around or handling hazardous substances, including blood or bodily fluids. 10. Utilizes standard work in caring for central lines, foley catheters, pressure ulcers, ventilators, restraints, and patients at risk for falls. 11. Contributes to the daily efficient performance of the Operating Room, as charge nurse when assigned (Advanced Resuscitative Certification appropriate to their patient population if serving as a Charge Nurse or PCS position). 12. Contributes to the overall performance of the Operating Room through the precepting of novice employees. 13. Contributes to the growth and performance of the Operating Room through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved Evidenced Based Practices. 14. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. 15. Will float to assist in other like units as needed. 16. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:
Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program Must possess a valid SC license
- RN, BLS Advanced Resuscitative Certification appropriate to their patient population if serving in a Charge Nurse or PCS position Certified Nurse Operating Room Required First Assist Certification Required,
