Assisted Living/Memory Care:
7a-7p or 7p-7a half shifts available for Part-time and PRNs from7-11pm.
POSITION SUMMARY
: Caregiver duties revolve aroundproviding care one-on-one for seniors. It is highly dependent onthe individual’s special needs. When it comes to caring for theelderly, it’s important to keep in mind that caregiver duties varyand being able to adapt and respond are important.
- Must obtainState Certification as a Nursing Assistant within specified timeframe per offer letter.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
- Following the careplan as directed by supervising nurse.
- Assisting with bathing andgrooming
- This can include but is not limited to: shampooing hair,finger and toenail care, brushing teething, and shower assistance.
- Medication reminders
- Caregivers must assure that medicationsare taken at the correct time as directed by the doctor.
- Lighthousekeeping
- It’s important for caregivers to keep a safe andclean environment. Duties related to housekeeping will typicallyinvolve making the bed and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen.
- Transferring the client
- This refers to transferring the clientfrom chairs, from the toilet, from bed, and to and from a vehicle.
- Toileting
- It’s important to assist with using the toilet toencourage comfort and prevent any infections
- Monitoring changesin client’s health
- When following the care plan, the supervisingnurse will want to know if there are any changes in health that areconcerning and that may need medical attention.
- Companionship
- Possibly the most important of all caregiver duties, caregiverswill be with the elder all day and it’s mutually beneficial if theyenjoy each other’s company. It’s a very important part of acaregiver job.
- Participates in and attends all in-servicetraining and education programs as scheduled.
- Other duties asassigned.

Full PhysicalDemands, Work Environment, and Expected Hours of Work:
The physicaldemands described here are representative of those that must be metby an employee to successfully perform the essential functions ofthis job.
- This position is very active and requires frequentstanding, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing.
- Thisposition will be required to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs. andability to push up to 250 pounds independently.
- The individualmust use proper body mechanics to assist residents in their dailyliving.
- This position regularly requires long hours and frequentnight and weekend work.
TRAVEL:
No travel is expected althoughoccasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuingeducation opportunities, emergency situations, and other companyfunctions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Certificationin CPR, AED, and First Aid
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similarhealthcare position preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESREQUIRED
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand Englishfluently.
- Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance andpunctuality standards.
- Ability to use Electronic Records andmiscellaneous software and office equipment.
- Ability tounderstand and follow directions as given.
- Ability to work withminimal supervision.
