JobSummaryUnder the direction of a Registered Nurse assumesresponsibility for the collection of data related to patientstatus. Performance of basic nursing procedures. On-goingcollection and documentation of patient data. Assistance withtreatments and procedures. Assistance with maintenance of patientcare equipment.
Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliantwith Prisma Health’s values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion.
Be the difference. Assists patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. Maytransport patients and assist with walking. Assistingadult/pediatric patients with toileting needs in relation to theirage including emptying established colostomy bags and urinarycatheter removal. Assists with fall prevention interventions andpatient restraints as delegated. Removing and reapplyinganti-emboli hose or compression devices. Assists with admission of patients to the unit by preparingroom, greeting, and orienting patient and/or family to the unit(bed, call light, phone, TV). Takes and records vital signs and with repeating questionablevalues. Prepares patients for meals and assisting in feeding andproviding snacks and supplements. Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens. Delivers specimensto appropriate department as requested. Completes documentation in EMR in accurate and timelymanner. Maintains cleanliness and order of hospital room, utility room,diet kitchen, hallways, and alcoves. Disposes of excess linen andkeeps linen emptied. Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN.Reports lab values to RN. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/ManagementResponsibilities This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor,manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements Education – Completion of a nursing assistant programpreferred. Experience – No previous experience required.
