Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we areoffering a $3000 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants; additional$3000 for Nurses.• We are eager to continue to provide quality andcompassionate care in our service areas and need you to make thishappen! This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Theschedule is Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. The MedicalAssistant/Nurse LPN is part of the person-centered integrated careteam and establishes and maintains effective, professional workingrelationships with patients and their representatives and withmedical staff. The Medical Assistant upholds all guidelines setforth in the clinic, maintains strict patient confidentiality,accepts and upholds patient service and satisfaction and assistspractitioners and physicians in delivering health care services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC
Prepare patients for examinationand treatment. Take patient’s histories, vital signs, and documentin patient chart Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessaryinstruments and supplies Perform venipunctures, urinalysis, EKGsand other procedures as directed Administer immunizations and otherinjections Provide patient education and instruction Prepare andmaintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization Assistphysicians/nurse practitioners in preparing for minor surgeries andphysicals Assist with the scheduling of tests and treatments Screentelephone callers for appropriate referral, relay messages anddocuments accordingly Maintain patients’ files, records, and otherinformation Adhere to standard precautions, as appropriate, i.e.,use protective barriers, handle and dispose infectious wasteappropriately, proper hand washing Follow CLIA and OSHA regulationsAssist in maintaining the cleanliness of unit facilities andequipment Monitor supply of medical stock, medical supplies, andlaboratory needs or order supplies when necessary Attend alltraining as required by Compass Health, Accreditors and FundersMeet standards of professional ethical conduct Additional duties asassigned to meet clinic needs LPN Only Assist incontacting/collaborating medical providers regarding significanthealth information Monitor HIT tools and reports for treatment andmedication alerts and hospital admissions/discharges and for thepurposes of pre-visit planning Triage medical questions andrequests for medication refills in accordance with agency policiesmedical provider preferences, and license scope of practice Serveas medical/nursing consultant to clinical services staff andpersons served Contact patients who have been discharged from theHospital/ED within 3 days to review discharge plans/instructions,medication reconciliation, and assess need for timely follow-upappointment with primary care provider Will seek culturallycompetent services and service providers to meet the uniquecultural needs of each agency consumer and family member
WORKINGCONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

LPN WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONALREQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of medical office terminology, proceduresand equipment preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suitepreferred Medical Assistant I Medical Assistant Certificationpreferred If a medical assistant certification or 1 year ofexperience is not previously obtained, successful completion of theinternal CHN Medical Assistant course is required. MedicalAssistant II Must qualify under (at least) one of the below: Five(5) or more years experience as a medical assistant Certified as amedical assistant Registered as a medical assistant Graduated witha Bachelors in Health Sciences Medical Assistant III Ten (10) ormore years experience as a medical assistant LPN At least two (2)years’ experience as a licensed practical nurse in providingmedical nursing treatment to individuals treated in a primaryhealth care setting preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
