The Department Chair – Patient Care Technician/Nurse Assistant ECG Technician Programs performs the following functions:

Academic Leadership:

Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula for the Patient Care Technician and Nurse Assistant ECG Technician programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements.

Faculty Supervision:

Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the department, fostering a collaborative and supportive teaching environment.

Student Support:

Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic progression and career opportunities.

Program Management:

Manage program budgets, resources, and scheduling to optimize departmental operations.

Community Engagement:

Establish and maintain partnerships with local healthcare providers and organizations to support program development and student placement opportunities.

Compliance and Accreditation:

Ensure all programs meet accreditation standards, including maintaining necessary documentation and facilitating accreditation processes.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Nursing At least four years of clinical experience in patient care, with a focus on roles such as Patient Care Technician, Nurse Assistant, or ECG Technician
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina or eligibility for licensure
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s of Science in nursing is preferred
Previous teaching experience in higher education and prior administrative or leadership roles
Strong leadership and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in curriculum development and assessment
Experience using Microsoft Office programs in a professional setting
