Position SummaryThe Nurse Aide in Training is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patientin accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Reports to nurse on duty____________________________________________________________________________________________________________Working ConditionsAttends and participates in continuing education programsWorks in department as well as throughout facilitySubject to frequent interruptionsInvolved with patients, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstancesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, etc.
Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions temporarily as necessarySubject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workdayPossible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and hepatitis B viruses____________________________________________________________________________________________________________Education, Experience, and Licensure/CertificationsMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust be currently enrolled in a State-approved CNA program and may work for a single consecutive period of four (4) months. At the conclusion of the four (4) month period the Nurse Aide in Training must meet the certification requirements to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
