JOB SUMMARY
This is highly responsible managerial work providing supervision and direction to a team of Family Care Managers (FCM) and one Family Support Worker (FSW) working with children and their families with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or substance abuse. This position also provides oversight for quality assurance, risk management, financial management, and clinical direction of the unit. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee and track critical data elements involved with management report/State Scorecard via Kids Central Inc. electronic case management system. Oversee provision of case management services, planning, and linking, within 5 days of Early Service Intervention staffing, monitoring, and advocacy for assigned children and families from intake through discharge from the system within the assigned care team unit. Monitor and manage all Family Care Team reports and outcomes, including monthly visitation, judicial progress, and case status. Ensure FCM is meeting Kids Central Inc. contractual obligations provided to each supervisor annually, as it is renewed. Should a FCM fail to meet any contractual obligations, the supervisor will ensure the FCM is compliant with any action needed to bring the FCM into compliance with the contract. Ensures follow-up by FCM on all case reviews and recommendations from the Supervisor, Quality, and Permanency reviews. Ensure that every child in foster care from their unit is referred for a relative search and if deemed necessary, ensures that Family Finding strategies are integrated into case management functions. Monitor FCM during home visits and court hearings at least once every two months. Should the supervisor assess the FCM to need additional training in any area, the field visits will be increased to allow for mentoring by the supervisor or referral to the training unit. Participate in staff development programs and opportunities. Participate in team meetings, client care, utilization reviews, and staff meetings. Provide administration and management duties related to staff supervision, including interviewing and selection, training and orientation, supervision, performance management and development, and scheduling. Establish and maintain effective working relationships required for proper functioning within the role of Family Care Manager Supervisor. Supervise day to day operations of the Family Support Worker.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field. If the degree is in an unrelated field, one must be eligible for a waiver. Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or other behavioral healthcare discipline and five years of experience working with children and families, one of which is in providing supervision to direct service workers in the related field may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. Three years of supervisory experience in the current program, DCF, or YFA transfer to be considered eligible for FCMS II. Licensure/Certifications Child Welfare Certification required. Must maintain certification in good standing. Must maintain a clear criminal background and driving record. Must maintain and show proof of the appropriate automobile insurance limits ($100,000/$300,000) per Florida Statutes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to work in a highly visible position and use effective interpersonal communication skills to respond to children and their families, and legal entities (i.e., judges, law enforcement, CLS etc.). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to document in a timely, clear, and concise manner. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
