We are seeking a dedicated Nursing HomeAdministrator to oversee the operations of our nursing homefacility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providinghigh-quality care to residents and managing the day-to-dayfunctions of the facility.

We require an experienced Nursing HomeAdministrator to run our 222-bed facility. As new owners, we are inthe process of turning the facility around and will be investing ina major remodel. We are looking for someone who is organized,structured, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Additionally, the candidate should understand the survey processand be able to write Plans of Correction (POC) and risk reports.

Wewant someone who is ready for a challenge and understands thatturning the facility into a five-star establishment will requirehard work and long hours. The wage is negotiable for the rightdedicated administrator.

Responsibilities:

General Purpose:

To lead and direct the overalloperations of the facility in accordance with customer needs,government regulations and Company policies, with focus onmaintaining excellent care for the residents while achieving thefacility’s business objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct thefacility’s programs and activities in conjunction with facility’soperational budget and state and federal regulations. Lead the facility management staff and consultants indeveloping and working from a business plan that focuses on allaspects of facility operations, including setting priorities andjob assignments. Monitor each department’s activities, communicate policies,evaluate performance, provide feedback and assist, observe, coach,and discipline as needed. Develop an environment that allows for creative thinking,problem solving, and empowerment in the development of a facilitymanagement team. Oversee regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care,operation of support departments, cleanliness and appearance of thefacility; morale of the staff; and ensure resident needs are beingaddressed. Exhibit positive customer service both to internal and externalcustomers. Utilize survey information, in addition to other sourcedocuments, to address areas of importance as defined by ourcustomers. Verify that the building and grounds are maintainedappropriately and that equipment and work areas are clean, safe andorderly, and any hazardous conditions are addressed.

ComplianceManagement:

Maintain a working knowledge of and confirm compliance with allgovernmental regulations.

Facility Staffing and Retention:

Monitor Human Resources practices to verify compliance withemployment laws and company policies, and to confirm practices thatmaintain high morale and staff retention to include effectivecommunication, prompt problem resolution, proactive supervisorypractices and maintaining a proactive work environment. Manage turnover and solidify current and future staffingthrough development of recruiting sources, and through appropriateselection, orientation, training, staff education anddevelopment. Assist in the recruitment and selection of competent departmentmanagers, supervisors, and other auxiliary personnel. Consult with department managers concerning the operation oftheir departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problemareas, and/or improvement of services. Provide that disciplinary action is administered fairly andwithout regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex,religion, disability, or marital status. Recognize staff for exceptional care and job performance on aregular basis and as part of their formal performanceevaluation.

Business Management:

Manage facility budgets and business practices to include laborcosts, payables, and receivables. Monitor business activities to be certain procedures andstandards are followed, appropriate handling of funds and thatsound credible business practices are followed at all times. Communicate budget guidelines and expectations to DepartmentManagers.

Marketing and Revenue Management:

Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the facilitythat reflects service opportunities, competition, potential marketarea changes, and which maximizes census, payor mix, and ancillaryrevenues. Lead and monitor key staff and facility staff to play an activerole in carrying out the marketing plan. Take initiative in evaluation, development and implementationof new business opportunities that meets the needs of the communityand benefits the facility/Company.

Community Relations:

Develop positive relationships on behalf of the Company withgovernment regulators, residents, families, other area health careproviders, physicians and community at large. Act as a resource of information to the community related tohealth care issues.

Other Duties:

Attend or complete (CEUs) in-service education programs inorder to meet facility and licensure educational requirements. Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan,Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use theinformation. Maintain confidentiality of resident and facilityrecords/information. Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse. Protect the personal property of the residents of thefacility. Others duties as directed by the Director of Operations.

MinimumQualifications:

Current/active state Nursing Home Administrator license. Must have multi-home LTC Skilled Nursing Home Administratorexperience Organized and detailed in work performance. Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline andpatience. Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled peoplein a nursing facility. Comply with the Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies andProcedures. Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements asoutlined below.
