JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for both the direct care and operational management of a Community Living Services Residential Group Home. Key responsibilities include providing quality treatment to residents, managing staff, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for both consumers and home operations. The role involves providing transportation, coordinating housekeeping and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all licensing standards and codes. Additional duties include quality outcome monitoring, staff supervision, and general program oversight to maintain a safe environment. The position requires a balance of hands-on resident care (85%) and administrative management (12.5%) to ensure optimal service delivery and program effectiveness while performing related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Quality Management:

Provides comprehensive management of residential group home operations and service delivery Implements and oversees quality individual treatment plans for consumers Ensures quality outcomes are achieved through consistent monitoring and evaluation Manages fiscal affairs of both consumers and group home, following expenditure guidelines Maintains compliance with building codes and licensing standards Oversees timely completion of maintenance and repairs

Staff Supervision, Safety & Compliance:

Supervises staff activities and ensures compliance with regulatory staffing ratios Ensures staff delivers quality services aligned with individual rehabilitation plans Provides 24-hour on-call coverage as needed Implements VOASELA policies and procedures for safety, emergencies, and disasters Conducts regular safety assessments and maintains emergency supplies

Consumer Care & Support:

Provides for consumers’ health and safety through preventive measures and healthcare services Performs housekeeping and meal preparation tasks as assigned Drives agency van to transport consumers for services and activities Evacuates with Community Living Services consumers when necessary Develops and maintains positive relationships with consumers and community members

Documentation & Reporting:

Prepares and maintains all consumer and home-related records per VOASELA and licensing regulations Completes house maintenance reviews and coordinates needed repairs Investigates and reports findings regarding complaints, incidents, and accidents Documents compliance with policies and licensing/funding agency requirements

Community Relations:

Encourages and advocates positive relationships with consumers, families, neighbors, and agency representatives Maintains constructive relationships with individuals who may affect consumer or home well-being Ensure safety supplies and emergency/disaster requirements are met.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Non-essential) Adhere to the designated dress code as stipulated for the specific role. Performs related duties assigned by management Maintains professional development and required certifications Participates in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

This position requires the incumbent to have completed education at the high school level and have five years of experience working with adults who have mental illness or developmental disabilities. Demonstrated ability in supervision, money management, record keeping must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have a valid Louisiana Driver’s license and Louisiana vehicle insurance. Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation, Able to obtain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certification. Ability to drive a twelve (12) passenger van with or without lift mechanism is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, pushing, bending, squatting, lifting, and pulling. May be required to assist in moving consumers weighing up to 200lbs.

Other physical requirements include:

The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary. Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment. Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
