The Luzerne•Wyoming County, Area Agency on Aging (AAA), Protective Services Unit is seeking a hard-working Aging Care Manager 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Manager 3, you will perform a variety of protective service tasks. You will respond to allegations of abuse and neglect as well as conduct priority investigations that comply with regulatory timeframes. You will interview older adults, collateral contacts, and alleged perpetrators to collect all necessary evidence and documents. You will also work with other agencies, law enforcement, financial institutions, social services, and the medical community to determine case decisions. The role requires effective communication and listening skills to complete investigations and the ability to substantiate findings so necessary protection for older adults is implemented. In addition, you will assist older adults with eviction notices, help residents apply for entitlement programs, submit reports and case records, and testify in court as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday•Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
