Associate Degree Nursing, Program Director – •(Paulding Campus)•
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of the Dean of the School of Nursing this position is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for program. The program director is a licensed Registered Professional Nurse who leads the Associate of Science in Nursing education program in the development of graduates eligible for licensure and demonstrates an understanding of education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in professional Nursing education. The ASN program director manages the following components of the program: planning, evaluation, maintaining program approval and accreditation, student enrollment, program curriculum, faculty selection and development, fiscal resources, physical resources, and development of professional relationships with healthcare partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Georgia RN Licensure.
Master’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a nursing education program leading to initial registered nurse licensure. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all regulatory agencies and appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a Nursing Program Director.
Three (3) years prior nursing experience in an educational setting as a medical surgical or mental health registered nurse/or medical-surgical unit in a hospital setting.
Ability to teach in the classroom and multiple clinical settings including but not limited to medical/surgical, mental health, OB/Peds, and transitions to practice. Experience in nursing simulation and simulation technology and lab management.
Prior teaching experience in a college-setting, post-secondary, or technical education setting is required, including experience with curriculum design and development, student evaluation, and outcome assessment as well as teaching in both the classroom and clinical settings.
Have experience with ACEN Accreditation processes and Georgia Board of Nursing Approval Rules and Regulations specific to nursing education.
Teaching experience in the academic and clinical environment.
Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Must be computer literate with the ability to use standard software programs. Proficiency and expertise within the TCSG system and familiarity with nursing KMS standards.
Demonstrated flexibility with a diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with various teaching strategies, including advanced instructional technologies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
SALARY/BENEFITS
