Position:
The School of Nursing seeks a committed educator capable of contributing to the continued expansion of the School of Nursing for a 9-month, fixed-term lecturer position. Clinical teaching is required for this position during the 9 months of employment. This position involves summer employment over 8 weeks, which will be paid for on an additional contractual basis. Summer employment is face-to-face teaching and will require clinical teaching. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the School of Nursing across the curriculum and engaging in university and professional service. This position will teach nursing courses and/or clinical, and develop instructional material related to the assigned area. The lecturer will evaluate student class and/or clinical performance according to established criteria and course outcomes. In addition, the lecturer will perform related duties such as mentoring students, formal and informal instruction, and serving on the School of Nursing committees.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing degree, preferably focusing on nursing education.
Minimum of one year of teaching in an institution of higher learning or equivalent experience.
This position requires an active, unrestricted North Carolina RN license.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Evidence of cooperation and collaboration with staff, administrators, colleagues, and members of the nursing community, curriculum development skills,
Interest and experience with technology common in nursing practice, education, and online instruction, and
knowledge of computer applications used in nursing, academic, and administrative fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Nursing, Education or related field or DNP
