This position is responsible for the education of undergraduate/graduate students which may include clinical teaching, coordination of clinical experiences, simulation lab instruction, classroom instruction, and on-line institution. The primary function is to help baccalaureate and graduate students acquire the knowledge, skills, critical thinking ability and attitudes required in professional nursing practice. Job responsibilities include:
Develop and deliver instructional material in alignment with course objectives and student outcomes.
Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote student learning.
Evaluate and document student progress and provides relevant and timely feedback to students.
Collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop, support and implement curriculum.
Actively participate in departmental governance and committees.
Serve on departmental, college or university committees as required.
Participate in evaluation of program and accreditation activities.
May serve as academic advisor to nursing students.
Requirements:
Hold a doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing or education
Must be eligible for a NH nursing license
Have 2-4 years of graduate nursing education experience.
Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population
Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, external constituents)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proven dedication to student learning
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in working with college age and non-traditional students.
Skill in working with culturally diverse constituencies in the academic environment.
Ability to cultivate external relations with community leaders, institutions and stakeholders.
Experience teaching via online learning management systems
Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability and ethnic backgrounds.
