Purpose of Role The Department of Nursing at Daemen University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach the Advanced Health Assessment Lab in the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Programs. This course is an essential component in developing the advanced diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills necessary for future nurse practitioners. About This Opportunity Joining our Nursing team, the Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for the following: The Advanced Health Assessment Lab is designed to equip adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner students with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to conduct comprehensive health and physical assessments across the adult lifespan. Building upon foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and undergraduate health assessment, the course emphasizes the development of diagnostic reasoning critical to advanced nursing practice. $900 per student with a maximum teaching load of 6 students per course section. Responsibilities Teach and facilitate lab sessions focused on advanced health assessment techniques Guide students in the development of diagnostic reasoning and clinical skills Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback Collaborate with Nursing faculty to ensure consistency in curriculum and assessment Required Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or a related field Current licensure and employment as a Nurse Practitioner Demonstrated clinical expertise in adult or geriatric care Strong communication and teaching skills Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred Application Process Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
