Nursing Full-Time Faculty

• Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Position Requirements:

  37.5 hours per week. Candidate is expected to teach 24

• 30 credit hours per academic year in addition to other responsibilities (12

Position Details:

This position is a full-time appointment in the Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. Teaching to include a variety of on-ground, online, and/or hybrid courses in the undergraduate nursing program. The candidate will be expected to participate in university and community service. Candidate will be required to maintain moderate engagement in scholarly and service commitments outside of the regular teaching appointment.

Faculty member must have: Expertise in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
The ability to teach cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills required by the Psychiatric Mental Health nursing specialty
Ability to work independently while adhering to high expectations and academic standards for teaching
Fluency or ability to learn a variety of educational software programs
Ability to provide student support and guidance throughout the twelve-month calendar year for registration and advising to ensure the academic success of students
Competency-based education knowledge
Excellent professional communications skills
Excellent oral, written and listening skills

Experience:

The successful applicant will have 2

• 5 years minimum in Psychiatric/Mental Health clinical setting, preferably Psychiatric/Mental Health nursing experience is current or very recent
  1-3 years of experience teaching in an academic or equivalent educational setting such as clinical teaching in healthcare settings
  Strong clinical nursing skills in medical/surgical nursing in addition to mental health nursing
  Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment is helpful but not required
  Ability to provide diverse instructional strategies including simulation
