RESPONSIBILITIES

The Medical Surgical Manager is tasked with ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the nursing staff, which ranges from planning and evaluating clinical operations, scheduling of nursing staff to ensuring that patients are receiving optimal care. Work closely with DON to improve the quality of care, patient satisfaction and customer service provided by our team. Work with DON to ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations as well as the policies and procedures. Assist in recruiting, training and disciplining of nursing staff. Empowers staff to embrace the mission, vision and guiding principles of the facility.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
• Must be a Registered Nurse
• Current registration in the State of Alabama
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but can be substituted with experience
• Management experience preferred
• Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice and competence in the area of nursing service in which she/he will function
• BLS Certification
