RN Charge Med/Surg Baylor Nights Russellville Hospital 15155 U.S. Highway 43, Russellville, AL 35653 Company Overview Russellville Hospital is a non-profit acute care facility with 49 beds, dedicated to serving northwest Alabama. It holds full accreditation from The Joint Commission. The hospital offers a wide range of services, including a 24-hour Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit/Cardiac Care Unit, Respiratory Therapy, as well as inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services. Other services include Rehabilitation Services, Cardiac Catheterization, Ambulatory Surgery, Laboratory services, and Home Health. The medical staff provides expertise in various areas, such as Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Radiology, and Urology. Additionally, the hospital functions as an educational clinic for nursing, laboratory, and radiology students from the local area. Position Summary The RN Charge is primarily responsible for representing the department on their assigned shifts, communicating administrative concerns and implementing hospital policy. They may assist the Administration Supervisor or Nurse Manager with staffing and the allocation of staff to meet workload demands, coordinate placement of float staff, collaborate with Directors and Nurse Managers/Unit Managers on operational issues, and serve as a resource to internal and external customers. Functions as a mediator between internal departments to facilitate patient care by resolving issues/problems. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities. Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient needs effectively. Administer tube feeding and manage patients’ nutritional needs as required. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients. Provide urgent care services and respond to emergency situations promptly. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive case management plans. Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management strategies. Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred. Proven experience in a charge nurse or leadership role within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of triage protocols and urgent care procedures. Experience with case management and outpatient services is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff. Education Current Alabama RN license. BSN preferred. Must complete Hospital-based ACLS and PALS within one year of employment.
