The award-winning Heart & Vascular Institute is a national leaderin advancing cardiac care, offering heart disease prevention,treatment, surgery and research. Hartford Hospital was selected asone of the Top 50 hospitals for Cardiac Surgery Award – 2021, 2022,as well as 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and CoronaryIntervention Awards for 2021, 2022 B10E/SD is a 23 bed acute caremedical cardiology unit, which includes a 9 bed Step Down level ofcare. The primary patient population is advanced heart failure.

There is a comprehensive orientation, which will prepare you to thecare for the advanced heart failure patient, including themanagement of continuous IV inotropes, continuous IV diureticinfusions, patients with LVAD’S (Left ventricular assist device)and patients who are admitted for TAVR workups/procedures. We havea dynamic nursing team on B10E/SD, and, if you are looking for anopportunity to continuously grow and develop as a professionalnurse, you will certainly have that experience. The assistant nursemanager supervises a work group to ensure that a high quality,cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of thehospital’s strategic plan, and the function’s goals and objectives.

They model the effective, efficient operation of the unit byscheduling and assigning work, resolving processing problems,collecting data to monitor progress, and carrying an assignedworkload or filling in as necessary. While continually strives toimprove quality and productivity by identifying improvementopportunities, and recommending and implementing changes. They willimplements and monitors departmental goals and objectives for thework group that align with the strategic direction of theorganization, by analyzing needs and developing recommendations.

The assistant nurse manager will implements individual performanceexpectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performanceevaluations to enable employees to be successful in contributing tothe achievement of individual and work group objectives.

Qualifications

  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of anaccredited nursing school (BSN required).
  • BLS certification bythe American Heart Association and proof of ArrhythmiaCertification required prior to date of hire.

Prior leadershipexperience and/or unit committee work highly preferred. Specialtycertification highly preferred. Strong communications skillsrequired – both written and verbal. We take great care of careers.
