POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with Health First commitments of Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship, the HFMG Clinical Team Lead-LPN oversees and coordinates job training, orientation and competency assessment of clinical staff. This position also provides clinical care of patients under the direction of the providers at Health First Medical Group (HFMG) offices.

TEAM LEAD ACCOUNTABILITIES

Serve as the first level for problem resolution (internal and external customers) in the absence of supervisor/manager. Assigns daily or shift task assignments to clinical staff. Ensure new hire clinical associates receive a comprehensive orientation and training to job duties, customer service standards and general performance expectations. Ensure 90-day/annual clinical competency assessments are conducted and individual development plans are documented as appropriate. Coaches clinical staff and providers in adoption of customer service techniques of “managing up”, explaining delays and use of the Health First service scripting in internal and external interactions. Participates in quality and safety meetings, ensuring instruction back to the clinic staff. Responsible for performing routine safety audits of the clinic environment.

CLINIC LPN

Perform clinical intake by taking medical histories and vital signs, recording weight/height and verification of patient’s current prescriptions. Prepare patients for examination and explain treatment procedures to patients. Prepare and perform point of care testing and/or specimen collection as directed by provider. Prepare and administer medications. Then documents validation of medication safety rights. Validates with ordering provider, any medication orders that are controlled high risk, or when there are questions on the medications ordered prior to administering. Enters orders into computer/electronic medical record for provider signature. Track and communicate to patients, the results of labs and diagnostic studies as directed by the provider. Call pharmacies for ordering prescriptions. Apply proper infection prevention techniques to all self-care and patient procedures. Clean exam rooms and equipment and ensure that supply inventories are maintained at par levels. Provide customer follow up and education (at the time of visit and/or via phone) to ensure customer’s participation in their care showing respect for their needs. As part of Health First Medical Group’s commitment to cross training efforts, the position may provide coverage for front desk operations and future appointment scheduling. Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Licensure:

Unrestricted LPN license in the state of

Florida Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) through

American Heart Association Work Experience:

Two (2) years or more experience in a medical office environment.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

Medical terminology, keyboarding skills. Strong customer service skills including knowledge of service recovery techniques. Must be able to pass colorblind testing to perform POC tests requiring color change.

Other qualifications:
