KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Responsible for clinical and nursing activities and assists the Administrator with Center policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager oversees patient care activities in the preoperative area, operating rooms, procedure room, and recovery room. This individual works closely with Business Office Manager in running the day-to-day operation of the Center.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Nurse Manager manages the nursing staff, operating and procedure rooms, post anesthesia care unit (PACU), and preoperative areas in accordance with established Federal, State, and accrediting organizations, such as AAAHC, regulations and Center policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. It also includes involvement with assistance to physicians, materials and equipment, education of personnel along with the Business Office Manager and Administrator. This individual may delegate responsibilities and duties to appropriate personnel. Coordinates patient scheduling activities with other departments and outside services. The Nurse Manager participates in research to improve patient care, and in obtaining qualified personnel for the clinical areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in an ASC environment Management experience in an ASC preferred Certified Basic Life Support/ACLS, AIDS, Domestic Violence, Medical Errors, and Ergonomics. Knowledge
OSHA, HIPAA, AHCA
regulations, and Joint Commission accrediting organization regulations Demonstrated ability to function in managerial position Effective communication skills: oral, written, and presentation. Ability to set one’s own schedule and manage own time. Ability to effectively manage the activities and personnel of nursing. Knowledge of current matters relating to healthcare management including Performance Enhancement fundamentals and activities. Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner. Effective positive interpersonal and customer relations skills via telephone and face-to-face interaction. Cross-trains in other Center areas to serve as staff member where applicable Maintains Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) as required by Florida Clinical Board Keeps job related skills current Maintains regular attendance
