JOB GOAL

To carry out all functions of a nursing program manager as requires by the Florida Board of Nursing and to act as the liaison between the Florida Board of Nursing and CTC Administration and the CTC nursing staff. Completion of program updates and reports as required by the District, Florida Department of Education and the Florida Board of Nursing.
Attend all local, regional, state and national nursing meetings. Review nursing curriculum, labs, nursing storage areas, teaching materials and programmatic goals to ensure program compliance with the Florida Board of Nursing.

Education, Training & Experience:

At least one of the following qualifications is required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major and two (2) years of relevant experience
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience with progressive increase in responsibilities
Post-secondary teaching experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

RN with valid Florida License
Florida State Board of Nursing accreditation

Preferred Qualifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilties:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.
Reviews and approves of the educational content of the program curriculum to certify its ongoing appropriateness and medical accuracy.
Reviews and approves of the quality of all health science/nursing instruction, supervision, and evaluation of the students in all areas of the program.
Reviews and approves of the progress of each student throughout the program and assists Center faculty/staff in the development of appropriate corrective measures when a student does not show adequate progress.
Assures the competence of each graduate of the program in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
Is responsible for cooperative involvement with the Center Director.
Adequate controls to assure the quality of the delegated responsibilities.
Maintains current accreditation documentarian for all health science/nursing programs according to the Regulation of Professions and Occupations (Title XXXII), Florida Statute 464 (Entire Chapter).
Oversees finger printing and drug screening process as required for students.
Maintains COE accreditation requirements for all Health Science programs on approval.
Attends and participates in CTC staff meetings including program planner meetings.
Assists all Health Science instructors with the completion of any New Educator Training (NET) requirements
Coordinates scheduling of clinicals for staff and students and maintains positive relationships with all community affiliates and clinical site staff.
Participates in application process for all Health Science programs.
Monitors students for adherence to CTC attendance and academic standards and, if necessary, executes student contracts to ensure program adherence of students.
Coordinates consumable, supplies, textbooks, and all equipment of all Health Science programs.
Prepares and monitors licensure data and reports to the Florida Board of nursing.
Oversees Prometric training on site.
Develops calendar for testing with consideration of CTC master calendar.
Acts as liaison between Prometric and CTC.
Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
