Indian River Hospital’s 4 East Unit is a Medical/Surgical Unit that provides exceptional care to diverse populations of patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. You also gain access to a wealth of resources, including committee participation, community outreach projects and professional development courses. •A caregiver in this position works 8:00AM – 4:30PM, M-F – this is an exempt position. There is the possibility of working later than 4:30 pm. due to emergencies.•A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit. + Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards. + Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care. + Supervise caregivers and promote development. + Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards. + Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments. + Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes. + Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs. + Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans. + Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN). + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). + Three years of recent clinical nursing experience including at least one year of healthcare management experience. + High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area. + Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills. Physical Requirements:

•+ Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination. + Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. + Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range. + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. + Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. •
