Gulf Coast Village campus is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization. Schedule – Monday thru Friday, third weekend on call rotation.

POSITON SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the assigned nursing station(s). The Nurse Manger is responsible for the coordination, planning implementing, and evaluating the nursing services provided to each resident on a 24-hour basis. This role also supervises the direct care staff assigned to the Nurse Manager’s Unit/Household.

Required Qualifications:
Current licensure in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Current CPR Certification. Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with previous long-term care experience. Good problem solver with abilities to make independent judgments utilizing initiative, discretion and the nursing process as needed. Demonstrates leadership ability. Effective communicator with staff, families, Physicians/Providers, Surveyors and outside agencies. Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for long term care. Able to handle stressful situations. Able and willing to work flexible hours. Understanding of Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, Infection Control and OSHA guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Directs and oversees the nursing staff to ensure the nursing procedures are followed and reflect the current policies and procedures of the facility. Follows VOANS core clinical systems. Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to assure that medications and treatments are being administered as ordered. Perform direct care related activities as the need arises. Participates in the development of policies and procedures pertaining to resident care. Perform daily rounds of the nursing unit to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Perform QAPI rounds. Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure that continuity of the resident’s total regimen of care. Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of the facilities
QAA/QAPI
