POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Physician/Clinical Applications will oversee clinical informatics projects and application support across Healthcare Systems of America’s
MEDITECH EHR
platform. This role is responsible for optimizing workflows, ensuring effective functionality of EHR modules, and supporting systems such as NUR (Nursing), PDOC (Physician Documentation), OM (Order Management), EMR (Electronic Medical Record), ONC (Oncology), SUR (Surgical Services), and Critical Care. This Director will play a critical role in the initial development of the clinical support team at HSA and the build and transition to the
MEDITECH
Expanse EHR. This will require a motivated individual who will lead the strategy for application support, build and manage a high-performing team, and collaborate with clinical stakeholders and IT leaders to drive solutions that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and oversee processes for comprehensive EHR application support, ensuring stability, functionality, and swift issue resolution Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and workflows for efficient application maintenance and troubleshooting Collaborate with clinical teams, IT staff, and

representatives to evaluate, recommend, and implement system upgrades and enhancements Build, manage, and mentor a team of application analysts and informatics professionals, ensuring effective support for clinical systems and workflows Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and team collaboration to drive operational excellence Engage with nurses, physicians, and administrative leaders to identify gaps in workflows and design innovative solutions Stay updated on compliance requirements and ensure the organization’s technology strategies align with regulatory standards and guidelines Develop end-user training programs and support documentation customized for various clinical roles, ensuring user competency and efficiency in navigating EHR tools
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred) 7-10 years of experience in clinical informatics, application support, and healthcare IT leadership 4+ years of supervisor experience (Preferred)
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
Proven track record of managing EHR systems (preferably
MEDITECH
), including modules such as NUR, PDOC, OM, EMR, ONC, SUR, and Critical Care Proven track record of strategic leadership and team management Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience managing clinical application support teams in a multi-hospital healthcare environment Experience building and leading teams to support clinical applications and workflows Passion for innovation in healthcare technology and optimizing patient-centered workflows
