This employee enforces professional staff behaviors that facilitatepositive relationships among colleagues, physicians,administrators, and other hospital personnel.
CORE JOBFUNCTIONSOversees patient flow through designated clinical areas.
Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies andprocedures. Maintains nursing operations by initiating,coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnelpolicies and procedures. Assures quality of care by developing andinterpreting hospital and nursing division’s philosophies andstandards of care, enforcing adherence to state board of nursingand state nurse practice act requirements, and to other governingagency regulations, and measuring health outcomes againststandards. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting,orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff. Completespatient care requirements by assigning nursing and staff. Maintainsnursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and discipliningemployees. Establishes a compassionate environment by providingemotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients andtheir friends and families. Promotes patients independence byestablishing patient care goals, teaching and counseling patients,and reinforcing patients understanding of disease, medications, andself-care. Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinaryteam strategies. Maintains a safe and clean working environment bydesigning and implementing related procedures, rules, andregulations. Accounts for the collection of data to ensureperformance improvement and optimal customer service standards.
Assures all staff meet mandatory continuing education requirementsand yearly hospital based competencies Provides insight on theunit(s) operations to nursing leadership to assist in thedevelopment of strategic planning and departmental expansion.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of theinternal controls within the unit and compliance with Universitypolicies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controlswithin the function and on University policy and procedures.

COREQUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
